Mandarin Sunset Strain Review

I recently picked up some flower from Trulieve in the strain Mandarin Sunset.

Mandarin Sunset is bred by Ethos Genetics, and it’s a cross between Herijuana and Orange Skunk. It’s an indica with a ”rich, skunky, orange flavor profile.”

I picked up 3.5 grams, or one eighth of an ounce, of the flower for $53. The THC percentage came in at 17.648%, with the entire 3.5 grams containing 645.54 milligrams of THC.

Looking at the lab test results, we can find out some information about the terpenes within this batch of flower. The flower is 1.018% terpenes. Beta Myrcene is the most dominant terpene in this flower, coming in at 0.348%. The following terpenes are also contained within this flower: Caryophyllene, Limonene, Farnesene, Bisabolol, Humulene, Linalool.

The structure of this flower was pretty impressive – it was one huge nug and four smaller ones.

The big nug.

But more important than the size of the nugs is the quality of the flower. It seemed to be cured properly, with the flower not being too dry.

When I smoke this flower, I get a sense of euphoria and uplifted mood. My anxiety melts away, leaving me wanting to socialize and be productive. The smell of this flower is both orange-y and skunky just like the description says.

I’ve been using this flower to unwind at the end of the day and it’s been working out well. I would recommend this strain if you’re dealing with anxiety or trouble sleeping, as it’s helped me with both of those issues.

My top 3 favorite medical cannabis products recently (besides flower)

1. Dissolvable Powder from Cannabist

The dissolvable powder from Cannabist is a THC drink mix made with cannabis-infused sugar. Whether you’re at home or on the go, drinking your THC is a super subtle way to medicate. The dissolvable powder is sweet, so keep that in mind when mixing it with liquids besides water. I personally prefer water but might play around with mixing it into mocktails this afternoon. Each container comes with 10 packets which each have 10mg of THC. The dissolvable powder comes in several flavors; I think the raspberry is my favorite one.

2. Trulieve & Muse Live Suga

The Live Suga from Trulieve is a cannabis concentrate made with hydrocarbon extraction and fresh flower. It is a grainy, not-sticky concentrate that is pretty easy to work with (except when it falls off of your dabber). My favorite strain that I’ve tried so far is Space Age Cake, an indica.

3. Cannabist CO2 vape cartridges with cannabis-derived terpenes

The CO2 vape cartridges from Cannabist have cannabis-derived terpenes. These cartridges’ vapor is so smooth to inhale, it’s a refreshing departure from vape cartridges of the past in the Florida medical marijuana market. Earlier vape cartridges made with ethanol extraction seemed to be harsher. CO2 seems like one of the best extraction methods for carts; in my experience, the CO2 carts I’ve tried have always been pretty dang good. The cannabis-derived terpenes in these carts make them that much better.

Live Suga by Muse from Trulieve

Trulieve and Muse recently debuted their newest hydrocarbon cannabis extract, Live Suga. The Live Suga is made using a proprietary blend of butane and propane.

The consistency of this concentrate is granular, like sugar. It’s less sticky than many of Trulieve’s other concentrates, making it easy to work with and use.

I’ve enjoyed using this concentrate to help relax and unwind at the end of the day. I’ve been dabbing it using my Human Sucks Stinger nectar collector. The effects are strong and the taste is good, super terpy.

Have you ever dabbed cannabis concentrates before?

Trulieve TruTonic – THC cannabis powder you can drink

I’m sad that I just used my last packet of this! Trulieve came out with this product in November and I don’t think they’ve restocked since they sold out, but I had a packet lying around from that initial launch, so I used it just a moment ago. The powder came in two different flavors – Florida Orange and Black Cherry. It was a colorless powder that came in individual packets, meant to be mixed with water and drank. As someone who loves cannabis but doesn’t love smoking it, I really appreciate this product. It is a discreet way to consume your cannabinoids with no smoking required. With nano technology, this product has an onset time that won’t keep you waiting too long to feel effects. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for this product, hoping Trulieve will restock it eventually. Have you tried this one?
